How much does a home addition cost?
Every addition is priced after a free in-home consultation, because the number depends on the footprint, whether a foundation and roof are involved, and whether the new space includes a kitchen or bathroom. Site access, structural connections to the existing house, and the finish level move it from there. You get a written price before construction is scheduled.
Do you handle the engineering and the permit?
Yes. Higgason Homes works with certified engineers to design every addition and structural change, and your dedicated Project Manager files the building permit with your city and schedules each inspection through final sign-off.
How long does a home addition take?
The schedule is written into your contract before we start. Design and engineering come first, then permit review with your city, then construction. A single-room bump-out is measured in weeks; a second story, primary suite, or accessory dwelling unit runs longer because of foundation, framing, roofing, and the finish work inside.
Can I stay in my home while you build?
In most cases yes. We seal the addition off from the living space, keep utilities running, and schedule the tie-in to the existing house so the disruption is short and planned. We tell you up front if a phase will affect your kitchen or bathrooms.
